what has been going on lately? i can't remember that far back.
sojourner played one of our best shows ever sunday night. redding friends stayed over and are coming over again this evening after their shows.
yesterday i did a scary yell on the owen hart recording and i recorded a new sojourner song. the sojourner song is called deception falls and is just guitar and vocals. it is this generations glycerine but comes off sounding like far or deftones but with my vocals. hoping that this song could get used for a compilation or a split record. it's really different and would contrast with pretty much anything we put it on.

while the angels speak softly of hopelessness and despair.
and with every breath i force through my broken teeth
i sweeten the poison dripping from your tongue.
to think...i will be crowned and adored.
you will be moved and floored as i drain the faith from your hands.

the carrion birds screaming for the feast i've prepared.

if only these words would release me.

this song is more or less calling into question sexual freedom and thinking about how free love as a movement in the 60's at least maintained some form of human experience and emotion and how our generation is more or less experiencing free love completely devoid of human emotion, attachment and responsibility. sex is more or less self serving. alienating. hateful. selfish. this song is also inspired by this double standard of men being rewarded and patted on the back for makin the score and women more or less being sluts, bitches and hoes the moment they break up with their partner or have a one night stand. i wrote these words two years ago after the lowest most despicable evening of my life. i did not rape anybody or do anything like that. i do hope these words haunt me forever though.
